For your Eilen Jewell fix...

EJ and the boys did a live show at Friday 4/15 at The Kimmel Center in Philadelphia hosted by WXPN. A few new songs were performed ( Bang, Bang, Bang is already on my favorite list)and a few previously recorded songs. The new CD, "Queen Of The Minor Key" will be released June 28, but, if need your Eilen Jewell fix, like me, listen to this
I gotta wait until June 28 for the CD ?!?! This torture, folks!

Happy Birthday, Eilen Jewell!

One of my most favorite artists celebrates her B'day today! Happy birthday, EJ, and thanks for another year of incredible music, keep it coming! And hello to the boys in the band, too. I'll see you all soon.

The Good Lovelies - "Let The Rain Fall"

I have, in my hot little hands, the new CD from The Good Lovelies, "Let The Rain Fall". I received it in the mail about 15 minutes ago, I imported it into my computer and I'm listening to it now. I'm really glad that I pre-ordered it and was one of the first purchasers to receive a signed copy! Since the official release date in Canada was, I believe, yesterday, I didn't expect to receive my copy this early. But I'm glad, since it's really good with the first listen and I expect it to get better with each listen (like all their previous CD's did). After a few listens, I'll write a better review. Meanwhile, here's where you can find it:

The Good Lovelies On Stage

A little awhile ago, I had the pleasure of seeing a Good Lovelies show and of meeting the ladies after the show. I was absolutely blown away by the performance! And the ladies were just as friendly, nice and cute as I knew they would be. There just aren't enough superlatives to describe the show. When I think of it (which is often) I can't help grinning from ear to ear. One of the coolest moments came when, during "I Want" (one of my favorites of theirs), Caroline came to the whistling part. She started to whistle but started laughing and couldn't finish. Thats the way the whole show pretty much went. We did sing-a-longs, I took some great photos, and, did I mention that I was in the FRONT ROW! Actually, I was closer than the front row, I was almost on the stage! I could say a lot more, but I guess you get the picture. So, if The Good Lovelies come to a location within 100 or so miles, GO and see them (you'll thank me later). It's definitely a great, fun time! Great stuff! Here's some pics:

The Good Lovelies - continued

Here's another comment from reg, re: our new friends, The Good Lovelies:

"Reg said...

Hi,

I'm glad you liked my previous comments about Red Molly and the Good Lovelies. They were awesome together. I also got to chat with the after their shows and have photos of them performing together. I don't mind sending you a couple if there is some way of doing it."

To Reg:
I would love to see your photos, but I'm not sure how to send them me. I recently saw The Good Lovelies in person from the FRONT row, and I loved them! I got a chance to meet them after the show for some signed CD's and a brief chat (and photos) They are just as much fun and nice off stage as they are on stage. It was a great show and I'll post some photos soon, I promise! But, Reg, you're still ahead of me by seeing The Good Lovelies and Red Molly together!

"Honey West" RIP

I just heard on the news that Anne Francis "Honey West" died Sunday at age 80. Wow! There's a real good possibility that I lost my virginity to her in the late 1960's (of course, she was totally unaware of this) I wonder if Bruce, her ocelot, is still alive?
